Chocolate Review- Cote d’Or 70% Dark Chocolate

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

This chocolate bar is wrapped in a layer of aluminum foil and then placed in a box not much larger than the bar itself. By the way this is Bulgarian chocolate.

The bar is about 6 1/2 inches in length and 3 inches across. There are two rows chocolate squares that are 1 inch and a centimeter. There are 5 squares in each row. On each square there is an elephant which is the brands logo.

Here comes the most important part. I found this bar enjoyable. It had a nice taste, it wasn't too sweat or too bitter, at least for me. It had good creamy texture, I like how it trickled down my throat. This chocolate is softer (I hope you know what I mean by this). It is easy to chew and it melts in your mouth nicely. It has a satisfying after taste. It was very good for being mass produced by Kraft International.

There are very few ingredients, which is a mark for good chocolate.

Ingredients: Chocolate, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa, Milkfat, Natural Flavor, and Soy Lethicin.

I would give this bar a 7 out of 10 on the chocometer. It isn't my first choice for a chocolaty snack but I would definitely have it again.

It Can’t Get Much More Bitter Than This- Lindt 99% Chocolate

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Well As you know from the post before this that this brand of chocolate is very creamy, rich and good tasting chocolate. This post is on the same brand only darker.

I found it extremely bitter! I knew it was going to be bitter but it was a shock to find it as bitter as it was. I like the texture of this chocolate very much but the chocolate is very pungent. The packaging it very nice. It is sealed in this plastic case and then placed in its box. There are many little squares of chocolate about 3 quarters of an in on all sides. I am very glad that the chocolate squares are in small quantities because I don't think I could handle having more than 3 squares at a time.

I can see myself buying this again but I think it will last a very long time in this house hold. But on a good side this is about as healthy you can get a chocolate bar. If you were really enthused with the essence of chocolate try buying Cocoa Nibs. The last time I had Cocoa Nibs I thought I might be able to handle the bitterness of them but I was mistaken.

Lindt Excellence — Intense Orange

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

This is a hard chocolate bar for me to blog about. Normally, I don't like fruit with my chocolate. In my family, if chocolate and fruit co-inside its frowned upon and treated like heresy. There are a few exceptions but very few. Surprisingly, I liked this chocolate. It was very rich and delightful. Though, I found it best eating a little at a time. It is dark chocolate with, what I believe to be orange zest, but I'm not completely sure. It is refreshing. I found it at the local target and it whas not a bad price for what I got.

However, my brother had some and his reaction was over dramatic. After he chewed it, he yelped, spit it out, and went to go flush his mouth out with water. So if it sounds unappealing to you, then it might just be best for you not to have some.

Lindt 85% Extra Fine Dark Chocolate

Monday, July 30th, 2007
Lindt Extra Fine Dark Chocolate is simply delicious. Lindt is a very creamy brand of chocolate that you can buy. It is a very robust, pungent, and bitter taste. Also it is packed with antioxidants which are very good for your skin.
If you are a major dark chocolate enthusiast this chocolate is worth buying. For some people though it might be a bit too bitter. If so Lindt offers many wide selections of dark, milk and white chocolate (which technically isn't really chocolate). I know some people can't even handle 70% dark. Hope you will enjoy this chocolate.
